Electronic Enclosure
Electronic enclosures for building control systems by Taurus Engineering. |
| |
Background
Taurus Engineering, an engineering company that manufactures industrial electronic enclosures for building control systems has made a considerable cost-saving by using aluminium extrusions.
Solution
The product, which forms the enclosure for an environmental controller, was originally produced as a two-piece aluminium riveted assembly that had to be fitted together to form the final component. It was decided that it would be far more economical to produce the part as a one-piece extrusion.

Benefits
As a result of design capability, a 40% saving in production costs was achieved due to a reduction in the number of parts, machining, fabrication and handling costs.
